Race 4 Spreads Out the Field With Less Ties

23 F1s today; pretty nice turnout. Tim brought the new pit timer, ver 2.0. One beep on entry and two beeps on exit. Still has bright red light and more accurate time setting and longer foot switch. Thanks dude. I witnessed and participated in lots of great battles today. So nice to see close racing. We also extended the pit time to almost a full lap just to see the results. Hope all had fun, because that's ...

Race 3 Gives Us Our First E Main!

33 F1 and 8 LM cars today. Our first "E" main :) pretty cool guys. Thank you Hideo Kitazawa for joining us. He kicked some butt and had a good time doing it. His F1 series travels to 3 countries and by 2013 it will be 7 including the US. He has a hardcore group of 20 that will travel. And we have trouble getting folks to drive to Camarillo! LOL Seriously, how cool is it to go to a race and have an "E" main. ...

Race Two Attracts 30 F1 Drivers

30 F1 cars today was amazing. We had a "D" main! Holy crap Batman. I really expected attendance to drop after the opening race day. I hope our next race on the 17th is close to this because Hideo Kitazawa is flying all the way from Japan just to race with us. For those who don't know, he is mechanical engineer and test driver for Futaba. He also runs a F1 series in Japan. So lets try not to hack him! LOL I ...

27 F1 and 9 LM on the First Race Day

First race of the 2012 Winter Series had 27 F1 cars spread out over 3 mains and a full LM main of 9 cars. What a great turnout! Torrance dropped off a Tech box so we can easily check 190mm width. Thanks dude. There was an overwhelming demand to have two pits stops back, so we modified the rules to have one mandatory pit within the first 5 minutes and a 2nd after the 5 minute mark. I like this actually. Reme ...

2012 Winter Series Begins

As the summer winds down and the weather starts to cool, it's time to go inside and start the 2nd Annual Winter Series. Only one minor change to the F1 specs will be 190mm maximum width so we can accommodate the new 3Racing Sakura FGX. Not sure if this chassis is ready to take on the established Tamiya F104, but it's sure going in the right direction of scale looks that Tamiya and HPI will have to answer. I ...

18 Realistic F1s and 5 Open cars today; great turnout. Traction started very loose in the AM with a light drizzle, but soon warmed up and the sky cleared to a nice warm sunny day. Monte Carlo

Cuda and Tony both dominate their classes at Monte Carlo under very difficult conditions. Heat, low traction, 11 turns per lap for 10 minutes comes out out to one turn every 1.33 seconds average. Mike drops to 4th place with a bad day in the realistic class. Tony, Torrance and Tim all move up, while Doug drops down as a no show today. And a great job by Dennise Lyman in his highly modified chassis kicking b ...

Grand Prix of Cam Marino

Hiro puts down yet another perfect day in his RedBull pulling away from Rydwell. Rydwell is going to have to take the battle directly to Hiro for any chance of winning the Championship, which means racing in the realistic class and beating Hiro in order to take away points. With 3 races to go and a 31 point spread Mike would have to win 5 of the following 9 races. If Hiro comes in worse then 2nd place for t ...
